Pickwick is a tea brand from Douwe Egberts. The history of the brand starts in 1753 and was established in Joure, in the north of The Netherlands. The name Pickwick is inspired by the title of the book The Posthumous Papers of the Pickwick Club by Charles Dickens. At first, tea was sold lose. In the 1930s the cotton tea bag was introduced. Since the seventies, Pickwick Tea bags have barely changed. Pickwick tea is the most famous Dutch tea and is available in many different flavors. Rooibos tea is made of a plant that only grows in South Africa. Due to its red brown color it is also called red tea.
